Just to remind you of the benefits of joining OMEDA aside from belonging to a lively dance loving group of vivacious high energy folk:
- A Membership Card indicating your member number to be used to expedite entry to OMEDA events at reduced rates and as proof of your membership when needed
- Receive the quarterly Newsletter, "The Shimmy" and upon request receive the e-version that is in colour. It also may contain more articles because of the budget constraints for production of the print version
- Free advertising up to 1/4 page in size and reduced rates for paid larger ads and inserts in The Shimmy. Inserts are preferred as advertisers can organise these as colour flyers and deliver them to OMEDA for insertion in the print version. Please provide a PDF version for inclusion in the E-version, if this is unavailable a scanned copy can be included.
- Hone your writing skills by writing articles for The Shimmy. Submissions must be unformatted in a simple word document to make it easier for inclusion in the e-version of The Shimmy.
- Promote your events through the weekly E-Bulletin. This goes out to more than OMEDA members as it is free to subscribe and is open to anyone wanting information on up-to date news of events and workshops organised by OMEDA or OMEDA members.
- Receive the weekly E-News from Ausdance and occasional E-News from Multicultural Arts Victoria, distributed as a Members Only group mail as a service to OMEDA Members.
- Receive regular Members Only group emails from our Membership Officer about items which we think may be of interest to members including events and film nights
- Discounts on all OMEDA organised events
- Discounts on stall holder fees at the Melbourne Middle Eastern Dance Festival presented by OMEDA
- Free listing in the Teachers and Performers Directories. ONLY OMEDA members may be listed in these Directories which are also included in The Shimmy Newsletter and on the OMEDA website.
- Monthly up-dates to the E-Calendar of Events which details all MED events that we consider would be of interest to members. This is distributed to OMEDA members as well as being visible on the website.
- OMEDA holds Performance Nights to enable students to obtain performance confidence and for professional dancers to try out new choreography. Only OMEDA Members or their students may perform at these events.
- Be automatically placed on the database to receive a Brochure about the Melbourne Middle Eastern Dance Festival at which Members receive reduced rates to be a stallholder and reduced rates of entry fees to the Gala Night Performance and Workshops.
